We teach police investigators how to interview and interrogate criminal suspects.
A suspect interview in a criminal case is challenging. Your investigator’s skills in the room will make sure that the innocent go free and the guilty are held to account. We will teach your investigators how to prepare for interviews, how to conduct interviews, and how to interrogate if it’s called for.
We currently instruct an in-person 2 day, 16 hour course called Fundamentals of Interviewing and Interrogation.
We have a one day, online class called Practical Suspect Interviewing through our partners Scarab, led by Dr. Michael Bourke.

When we designed the class, we noticed that other classes focused on either gimmicky tricks or highbrow concepts. These things were fun to learn but didn’t address the actual needs of working detectives/investigators.
We asked, “What works? What are the actual needs of working investigators and detectives?” We designed this two day, 16 hour class that gives the detective everything they need to get started. We cover basics like custodial issues, questioning tactics, deception detection, accusatory interrogation and court room testimony. The class is built around scenarios and practicals. Each person that attends will have a lot of reps on the specific techniques. We explain it. We discuss real life, recent examples from our own work, and we have the students then do it.

Currently, reporting to TCOLE takes place by a hosting or attending reporting agency turning the hours in. Alternatively, we provide a certificate and a syllabus so officers or agencies can self-report. It is a straightforward process.
Pricing & Hosting
Texas (driveable): $400 per student, minimum 20 students, maximum about 30.
Requires flying: $400 per student plus a $1,000 flat travel fee, minimum 25 paying students. Complimentary seats do not count toward the minimum.
We prefer classes within about four hours of Austin. CONUS travel is fine when travel costs are covered.
Host agencies that provide the classroom and help fill seats typically receive a limited number of complimentary seats, negotiated case by case.
